Our Story

Helping You Find Your Pathway To Destiny

Somebody Who Cares Destiny Empowerment Center was established in 2008 with the intent of restoring and recovering reflective practices in this generation of urban youth. It was birthed out of a sincere passion to assist youth in advancing towards their destiny through the power of education and progressive thought. Poverty, gang violence, and socio-economic inequality plagues the lives of young people and, more often than not, cloud their judgment. Today, SWCDEC has faithfully implanted the S.T.I.T.O. method and Bushell Media Group Video Arts Program for the 2017-2018 academic school year at Sarah J. Webber Media Arts Academy in Pontiac, MI. #I V.A.L.U.E. Life will launch this summer at this location. Transitional housing for “at-risk” youth is the final phase of SWCDEC to impact change.

“We want our programs to propel young people into the extraordinary existence for which they were created”

Our Mission

Somebody Who Cares Destiny Empowerment Center is a place designed to impact the lives of disenfranchised youth utilizing the three (3) eternal pillars of human existence: Faith, hope, & love for the purpose of at-risk youth advancement through conflict resolution and digital media training.

Our Vision

It is our vision SWCDEC programs propel young people into the extraordinary existence for which each child was created. It is also our vision that the impact of SWCDEC programs reaches existentially into the third, fourth, and fifth generations of participants.
